Bridge Street Studio Workshops

Bridge Street Studios will host a series of workshops in their studio spaces this Cruinniú na nÓg day on Saturday 15th June

Workshop 1 -Step into a world of creativity and clay! This soft slab vase workshop for children is a hands-on journey into the art of pottery. Guided by well known sculptor, Sarah McKenna, young artists will learn the fundamentals of working with clay as they mold and shape their own unique vases. This workshop is from 11am - 12p.m and is for children aged 8-12. 

Workshop 2 - Wire and Plaster Sculpture with Orlaith Cullinane from 2-3 pm. - Unleash your inner sculptor in our wire and plaster sculpture workshop with Orlaith Cullinane! Dive into the exciting world of three-dimensional art as you learn to bend, twist, and shape wire into fantastic forms.  Join us for a hands-on adventure where every twist of the wire and stroke of plaster brings a masterpiece to life!This workshop is for ages 12-18. 

Workshop 3 - Pinch Pot Animals with Mary Cowan from 2-3 p.m - Embark on a delightful journey into the world of pottery with our pinch pot animals workshop designed especially for children aged 5-8! Join us as we mold, shape, and sculpt clay into adorable creatures of all shapes and sizes. Guided by Mary Cowan, young artists will learn the ancient technique of pinch pottery, using their fingers to create charming animal forms from balls of clay.  Come join us for a day of creativity, laughter, and endless fun as we craft our very own pinch pot animal friends! 

Workshop 4 - Wax Crayon Batik on Paper with Rachel Tinniswood - Step into a world of vibrant colours and creative expression with our wax crayon batik on paper workshop for children! Discover the ancient art of batik reimagined with the fun and ease of wax crayons. In this hands-on workshop, young artists will explore the fascinating technique of layering wax and vibrant hues to create stunning designs on paper. Guided by Rachel Tinniswood,  instructors, children will learn to blend, draw, and experiment with different textures, unleashing their imagination to craft one-of-a-kind masterpieces. This workshop is for children aged 8-12.  

Workshop 5 - Water Colour Techniques with Orla Barry - Embark on a colourful journey into the world of watercolours with renowned artist Orla Barry in our dynamic classes designed for ages 10-18! Discover the magic of this versatile medium as Orla guides young artists through a series of engaging lessons, teaching essential techniques and encouraging personal expression.

Workshop 6 - Eco Gelli Printing with Fiona Quigley - Dive into the world of sustainable art with our eco-friendly gelli printing workshop tailored for ages 16-18. Using specially formulated gelatin plates and natural materials, young artists will explore the fascinating process of gelli printing to create stunning, multi-layered artworks. Guided by Fiona Quigley,  participants will experiment with texture, colour, and composition, learning techniques to produce intricate designs and expressive prints.
